Letter to President George W. Bush to end Muslim suffering PDF Print E-mail

June 19, 2001

The honorable George W. Bush,
President of the United States of America,
The White House – 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.,
Washington, DC 20500.

Dear Mr. President,

May God's blessing be with you, your family and the United States of America. Amen. First of all, belatedly, I congratulate you for winning a stunning presidential election. For those of us in the Muslim community of the Dallas Fort Worth area (who supported you very early in the campaign) take a special delight in your victory. You may recall that at the Reception held on June 7, 1999, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas, organized by Mr. R. L. Hunt to appreciate your early supporters, I had asked you to please include the words Islam and mosques in your future speeches (Judeo-Christian-Islamic values; and Synagogues, Churches and Mosques.) I believe this reflects the true sentiments of American Muslims, the second largest religious minority in the United States. At the time of the reception, you had twice promised you would do so going forward. I am happy to say that from time to time you have done just that. Thanks.

Mr. President, being a God-fearing man, you have often stated that everything happens for a reason, and I agree with you. By making you President of the USA, God Almighty has given you awesome power and responsibility to test your ability to take care of Americans and other people, particularly those who are suffering terribly under brutal OCCUPATION AND OPPRESSION, such as the Palestinians, Kashmiris, Chechens, Iraqis, etc. In the long history of the world, no nation has ever attained such power, prestige and respect as the USA. Therefore, the eyes of the suffering people invariably fall upon you…. please don't disappoint them.

Recently, you met with Russia's leader, Mr. V. V. Putin, and later commented on his trustworthiness. You may have good intentions, but it should not be forgotten that this is the same individual that went back on his word. Specifically, when Russia promised to grant the Chechens their freedom, Mr. Putin, once elected, was in a position to make the promise a reality, but later never delivered. In fact, Mr. Putin has been reported to have said that the dark people (Chechens) must be annihilated – a horrible racist remark by a "trustworthy" leader of a big nation. This KGB-trained man clearly behaves as a tyrant. Please do not be so quick to trust him, as he is only a shoe behind Ivan the Terrible.

Mr. President, all of us are concerned about the terrorism, whether it is the state terrorism or the individual terrorism. The terrorism will simply end if you can persuade the leaders of Russia, Israel and India to end the COLONIAL OCCUPATION and OPPRESSION of Chechnya, Palestine and Kashmir. These helpless victims are not terrorists, but rather individuals who have the right to free themselves from the clutches of Russia, Israel and India. The Muslim world is angry that these powerful countries are getting away with literally murder, and that no leader is willing to grant or assist these people their freedom. I hope you will do what you can to help them.  Thanks and regards.
