Letter to Counsellor of Indian Embassy PDF Print E-mail

June 17, 2000

Mr. R. R. Dash.
Counsellor and Head of Chancery,
Embassy of India,
2107 Massachusetts Avenue, N. W.,
Washington, DC 20008.
Tel : (202) 939-7020.
Fax : (202) 265-4351.

Dear Mr. Dash,

Ref : Your letter No. WAS/C(HOC)/PMRF/drought/00;
dated June 9, 2000.

May God Almighty bless you, your family and all the people of India. Amen.

This will refer to your above referenced letter which was received today from the post office with the note that the letter was damaged in the mail and that the "Plant Manger" of the post office regrets any inconvenience that you have experienced. For your information, I enclose the damaged envelop and the post office's covering envelope. Sometimes things happen over which one has no control; and therefore no one - neither the Indian Embassy nor Mr. Qureshi or the post office - should be blamed for it. The important thing is that the money should reach the drought victims as soon as possible. Therefore in accordance with your wishes, I enclose a new check for five hundred US dollars (US $ 500.00) made in favour of the " Prime Minister's Relief Fund." I am sending this check in a registered mail hoping that everything will go smoothly now. May God reward your efforts to take care of the victims of the Drought in India.

Thanks for your understanding, help, cooperation and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Mr. Mohammed Khaliq Qureshi,
1317 Shamrock Lane,
Plano, Texas 75093.
Res. Tel : (972) 380-5106.
