Appeal letter to Pakistani Prime Minister PDF Print E-mail

August 10, 1999

The Honorable Mohammad Nawaz Sharif,
The Prime Minister of Pakistan,
Islamabad, Pakistan.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
Assalamo-Alaikum. May Allah's blessings be always with you, your family and Pakistan. Ameen.

Your Excellency, in every man's life there comes a time when certain events trigger something in his heart - a spiritual experience - that transform his life. For me, it was the events of Bosnian tragedy and the bravery of Chechens that created a storm in my heart that induced me to launch in early 1995 my ONE-MAN MISSION for MUSLIM UNITY. In the last five years, I have visited Indonesia and Malaysia and have appealed to President Soeharto and Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to accept the leadership of the Muslim world but they will neither say yes nor no to my appeals or the appeals of thousands of Muslims of north America. Also, I have traveled to many cities in U.S.A. and Canada, in connection with my Unity Mission, and have met top Muslim scientists, Doctors, Professionals, Religious leaders and intellectuals. There is a unanimous feeling among these north American Muslims that our people will continue to suffer all over the world unless we are United and there is a Muslim leader or a group of Muslim leaders who are willing to commit themselves to guide the DESTINY of the Muslim world, either through OIC or United Nations.

Over the last several years I have kept you, and Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, informed about my activities concerning my ONE-MAN MISSION for MUSLIM UNITY, through the copies of my appeal letters sent to the leaders of the Muslim world. For your ready availability and consideration, I enclose a few selected copies of those letters that will give you a glimpse of my commitment to the cause of Muslim Unity. Now that I have completed my plans to work with the three Muslim leaders of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, I want to move on to the next phase, that is, to approach the Muslim leaders of Pakistan and Middle East with the same purpose and appeal to take up the leadership of the Muslim world. It gives me a great pleasure to approach you because as a young student I was involved in the Independence Movement of Pakistan, and as such I have a certain birth right to appeal first to the top leader of Pakistan.

For the above mentioned purpose, I respectfully request you to please spare a few precious hours for me from your busy schedule so that we can meet either in Islamabad or Lahore, in order to personally discuss with you the matters of world Muslim Unity and your leadership. I will be further delighted if the Foreign Minister, Mr. Sartaj Aziz and Mr. Mushahid Hussain, Minister of Information are also present at the informal or formal meeting. The meeting can be scheduled any time between the period from September 10, 1999 through October 10, 1999. 1 will appreciate at least ten days notice to make the necessary travel arrangements. Thanks and warm regards.

Sincerely,

MR. M. Khaliq Qureshi,
