Dear friends,

Assalamo-Alaikum. May the blessings of Allah be always with you and your families. Ameen.

For quite some time I have been working alone, as well as in conjunction with Dr. Agha Saeed, to bring the Muslim political organizations closer together, through my appeal letters, so that they will speak with ONE VOICE on issues facing the Muslim Community of north America and the world. Therefore, it was heartening to see a beginning in the culmination of that wish when the seven political organizations in America came to Dallas to have a joint meeting on March 21, 1998, to discuss the issues of Muslim concern and formulate action plans for the future.

I attended the meeting as an observer and was saddened to note that in spite of my appeal to put the Kashmir issue on their list, they did not do that in the final phase of their meetings in Dallas. I know the reason but I don't want to state it here. It is a matter of great disappointment that if our Muslim organizations are not willing to discuss the Kashmir issue to be one of their main concern, then how can we expect the non-Muslim world to take it seriously? In my opinion, Kashmir and Palestine represent the two clear-cut moral issues that every decent human being should not only be concerned about but should take some concrete action for their resolution. It is a tragedy that Palestine and Kashmir have been under occupation for the last 50 years and both Israel and India are getting away with murder, but Muslims are unable to take a concerted action. Well, if others are not willing to go any further than just pay lip service, then in the near future I will try to do something - such as to take a DIRECT ACTION. Please don't be alarmed. My intentions are absolutely peaceful and I will use only the pen and ink method - not the sword and blood. It is my hope to get you all involved in the PLAN of ACTION, in one way or the other. I am confident that you will cooperate by giving a serious consideration to the PLAN.

Thanks and warm regards.
