Dear friends,
Assalamo-Alaikum. May Allah bless you and your families with health and contentment. First of all, I thank you and your active associates for your pioneering efforts to educate and help the members of the north American Muslim community to become better Muslims. You are the heroes of our community and I salute your work and dedication. Allah will surely reward you all.

Most of you know, I am deeply committed to the cause of Muslim Unity because I believe that this will greatly help those poor Muslims who are the victims of injustice and oppression around the world. I feel that the main cause of our misery is 1) we blame others for our problems, 2) we are not united and 3) no Muslim leader is willing to lead us to an effective unity. The world events strengthen my faith daily that the unity among the Muslim countries is the only way that can help
case the suffering of our teeming millions. It is really disgusting to see Russia - the killer of 1.5 millions Afghans - again actively involved in prolonging the civil war in Afghanistan. The poor Palestinians, particularly those living in Jerusalem, continue to suffer. The enclosed letters to the Muslim leaders indicate that Jerusalem is the main issue in the -volatile Middle East that has the potential to trigger a sequence of events so staggering as to shake the very foundation of our today's civilization. Unfortunately, the OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference ) has not done
anything concrete except to organize meetings. However, the newly formed D-8 Group may have taken the first step towards the goal of economic unity? I believe, the Muslim leaders of north America can play a significant role to guide the Muslim world to unity, but first they have to unite here in America. You are already doing a great service by spreading Allah's word in this country, but we will be much more useful if ISNA and ICNA join their resources and become one or united. After, ISNA and ICNA are united, they can then invite other smaller organization to join them so that north American Muslims can speak with one voice. Please remember, unless we speak for all the American Muslims, we will remain marginally effective and our future generations will suffer.

I know, some of you in ISNA and ICNA have had discussions with Mr. Louis Farrakhan and may have asked him to join the mainstream Muslims. The enclosed copy of the letter that has been sent to Mr. Farrakhan indicates that I plan to try one more time to bring Mr. Farrakhan to the fold of mainstream Muslims. I hope the leaders of ISNA will have some provision in the program of 34th ISNA Convention to accommodate Mr. Farrakhan if he finally decides to make a positive announcement on the subject matter. Please keep up the good work. Thanks and warm regards.
