To: Hon. President George W. Bush. The White House. 1600 Pen. Ave. NW. Washington, DC 20500

From: Mr. M. Khaliq Qureshi, 1317 Shamrock Lane, Plano, TX 75093. Res.

Dear Mr. President,

Assalamo-Alaikum (peace be upon you). This Islamic greeting was also used by Prophets (Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus) when they addressed their disciples. My wife Aisha joins me in wishing you all a Merry Christmas, and we hope God will enlighten your heart with new moral courage, wisdom and compassion to work for world peace in the New Year by ending wars and foreign occupation, oppression and suffering in Chechnya, Iraq, Kashmir and Palestine, and securing their freedoms.

Mr. President, your re-election as President of the USA is being partly attributed to your religious faith - an example: your statement to a reporter "Christ, changed my heart" - and that is why today, in addition to Iraq war, the topics of Religion and moral values have become the focus of fierce debate in American media. Christians and Muslims constitute more than a half of humanity, and although they do share many beliefs, there are some fundamental differences, such as the status of Isa or Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). If one reads the New Testament, he or she will find that more is written about Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) than what he actually said himself and he never said that he was the Son of God. According to Qur'an, the True Word of God, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was the Prophet and not the Son of God. At least four Presidents of the USA (John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams and William Howard Taft) also believed that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was not the Son of God and also rejected the idea of Blessed Trinity (John Adams - The Complete Book of U.S. Presidents by William A. DeGregorio, 2nd edition.) I am not a religions scholar but only a student of Qur'an and a servant of Allah, so, for your information and reading pleasure, I have the honor to present you a Copy of the Holy Qur'an, by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. so that you can read it yourself for personal satisfaction. The Qur'an is arranged in 114 Surahs (chapters) of various lengths. Each Surah consists of a number of Ayat (verses). I hope that you will read, at least, the following four small Surahs: No. I (1); 96 (XCVI) - the first four Ayat or verses; 103 (C111); and 112 (CXII). I pray to God that He will bless you and change your heart for the better provided you have sincere intentions to receive it. In order to understand the framework of belief, within which we should organize our lives, and the scheme of values, according to which we should make our decisions, we must begin with the study of the Qur'an. Before one begins to read, one must realize that unlike all other writings, this is a unique Book with a Supreme Author, and Eternal Message and a universal relevance. It is the actual Word of God, not created but revealed through Angel Gabriel to the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for the benefit of all mankind. God has perfected His Religion of Islam for all mankind with the revelation of this Book. It contains a complete code, which provides for all areas of life, whether spiritual, intellectual, political, social or economic. It has a code, which has no boundaries of time, place or nation. The subjects of Justice, Accountability, Repentance, Tolerance and Faith have been particularly emphasized and repeatedly explained in the Qur'an. Mr. President, God Almighty created every human being for a purpose and gave him a free will to follow His Commands. You are lucky to have another chance to do some enormous good for humanity because now you have the God-given power, knowledge and wealth. A lot of innocent Iraqis and brave American soldiers are dying daily for the satisfaction and security of Israel. Democracy cannot be thrusted upon people; you have to do it by winning the hearts and minds of people. The soldiers of Messers Putin, Sharon and Indian leadership are committing brutal and heinous crimes (killings, tortures, rapes, destruction of houses, shops, trees, etc.) in Chechnya, Palestine and Kashmir, but the top leader of the Democratic West is nourishing the greed and bloodthirsty lust of the tyrannical leaders. The conflict in the three countries is the root cause of terrorism in the world and the simple solution to end it and the human suffering is through the long-standing Security Council Resolutions for Palestine and Kashmir and through the civil dialogue with Mr. Putin. "Apathy in the face of systematic human rights abuses is immoral. One either supports justice and freedom or one supports injustice or bondage." America's future destiny lies in the just solution of the three conflicts. Otherwise in time, God Almighty will separate good from evil.
