Letter to President George W. Bush PDF Print E-mail

December 18, 2003

To: Hone. President George W. Bush The White House, 1600 Pen. Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20500

From: Mr. M. Khaliq Qureshi, 1317 Shamrock Lane, Plano, TX 75093. Res. Tel: (972) 380-5106

Dear Mr. President,
May God's blessing be always with you, your family and the United States of America. Amen.

First of all, my wife Aisha joins me in extending to you and your family members the peaceful wishes for the Christmas and the New Year. In November and December, the people of Abrahamic Faith (Muslims, Jews and Christians) have been celebrating their respective religious holidays in a mood of mixed emotions. Today, Christians and Jews are ecstatic that they are at the top of their glory and prosperity but the Muslims feel humiliated, sad and concerned that their people are suffering terribly around the world, especially in Chechnya, Kashmir and Palestine. The recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; and the war on terrorism have created a crisis atmosphere in the world. I submit for your review the bold and honest statements of two American Presidents as follows: Woodrow Wilson said "Here muster, not the forces of party, but the forces of Humanity. Men's hearts wait upon us; men's lives hang in the balance; men's hopes call upon us to say what we will do. Who shall live up to the great trust? Who dares fail to try?" and John Adams's comments on religion are high-lighted on the enclosed copy. Throughout human history, God sent Prophets to tell people on earth to live a life of submission to the Will of God (ISLAM), that is called Din or Faith: belief in One God, Judgment Day, Prophets and Holy Books. Mohammad (peace be upon him) was the last Prophet who received through revelations the Holy Book Quran - the true word of God - that contains the final code, which was to apply to all mankind for all times to come. Before his death, the last verse of the Quran revealed to the Prophet states, "And be conscious of the Day on which you shall be brought back unto God, whereupon every human being shall be repaid in fall for what he has earned, and none shall be wronged." The Last Prophet stated a general principle that one is rewarded for his deeds according to his real intentions, not according to his actual deeds, which might be good but could have ill intentions. Mr. President, your critics have given many reasons for your invasion of Iraq, but only God knows what were your real intentions. God has made you the most powerful man on earth for a very short time, and you have to use this power to bring real justice for those who have been suffering terribly under brutal occupation in Chechnya, Iraq, Kashmir and Palestine. In a recent press conference, you made this honest statement, "I believe, I firmly believe that freedom is the Almighty God's gift to every person, every man and woman who lives in this world." It was very impressive. Mr. President, you are a man of God, and being true to your belief you have done a commendable job to remove from power the big tyrant, Saddam Hussein, and brought freedom and relief to millions of Iraqis. Mr. President, you are concerned about terrorism, so, our God is my witness that I must speak to you in a straight-forward and honest manner because the truth may hurt a little but it does less damage than lies. Now, if you want that in history you are remembered as the greatest or one of the greatest President, then, you must show the same resolve, discipline, passion, compassion and courage to end the brutalities being quietly committed by the remaining three or four tyrants, Messrs Putin, Vajpayee/ Advani and Sharon. These tyrants have unleashed a reign of state terrorism on the powerless and defenseless people of Chechnya, Kashmir and Palestine. I am not asking you to invade the countries of the three tyrants, but to use your God-given power and your personal friendship with Messrs Putin, Vajpayee/Advani and Sharon to convince them in a civilized dialogue to end their tyrannies. The tragedy is that your friendship with these tyrants is nourishing their lust to hang on to the Muslim lands by brutal force. I don't want to again repeat here the record of cruelties being committed by these tyrants, but as a reminder and for your review, I enclose a copy of my last letter dated December 7, 2001, written to you on the subject. Mr. President, the world terrorism can end peacefully, without any bloodshed and with little cost to the American tax-payers if you help to solve the problems of Kashmir and Palestine through the UN Resolutions and the Chechnya conflict as promised by President Yeltsin and late General Lebid. If that happens, then everyone will win, peace will prevail and above all, most American Jews, Muslims and Hindus will

vote for you in the next election and you will win a 2nd term. What a deal? God bless all.
